Military Pay Chart 1992

1992 US Military Basic Pay Charts

On December 5, 1991, President George H. W. Bush signed Public Law 102-190, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Years 1992 and 1993, which provided for 4.2% increase in the rates of basic pay and basic allowance for subsistence, and basic allowance for quarters. The law also increased the monthly family separation allowance (FSA) from $60 to $75.

Public Law 102-190 also established the permanent grade of chief warrant officer, W-5, and provides the basic pay, basic allowance for quarters, and basic allowance for subsistence for officers in the W-5 grade. The law limits the number of warrant officers in the W-5 grade to no more than 5% of the total number of warrant officers on active duty in that branch of the military.

The Navy active duty end-strength total, officer and enlisted, for 1992 was 541,886.

The United States military pay scales became effective on January 1, 1992 and continued to be in effect until December 31, 1992. It is the basic pay amounts for the active components of the Navy, Marines, Army, Air Force, Coast Guard.

The pay rates are monthly, US dollar.
