1983 US Military Basic Pay Charts

On October 8, 1982, President Ronald Reagan signed Executive Order 12387 which provided for a 4% pay raise for the uniformed members of the Armed Forces.

The Navy active duty end-strength total, officer and enlisted, for 1983 was 557,573.

The United States military pay scales below became effective on October 1, 1982, and continued to be in effect until December 31, 1983. It is the basic pay amounts for the active components of the Navy, Marines, Army, Air Force, Coast Guard.

The pay rates are monthly, US dollar.
